WWD FOOTWEAR NEWS — 2011 POWER 100
Steve Sadove, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saks Incorporated, and Ron Frasch, President of Saks Fifth Avenue, ranked number 19 on the Women’s Wear Daily Footwear News 2011 Power 100 list. Listing Cody Kondo, Group SVP, GMM, and Tracy Margolies, VP, DMM, as “Power Players,” WWD selected Saks for its successful rollout of 10022-SHOE and for its success in returning to profitability after the recession.
The Power 100 list is a comprehensive ranking of the industry’s most influential vendors, retailers and designers. To determine the rankings, WWD Footwear News examined sales figures, earnings, store openings, line launches, collaborations, market expansion and consumer buzz across the marketplace.
FASHION GROUP INTERNATIONAL — 2011 SUPERSTAR AWARD
On October 27, Steve Sadove, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saks Incorporated, and Ron Frasch, President of Saks Fifth Avenue, were honored with the “Superstar Award” at the 2011 Fashion Group International “Night of Stars” gala — themed “The Luminaries.” In selecting its honorees, Fashion Group International chose individuals and companies that reflect the very definition of the word “luminary.”
The Fashion Group International is a global, non-profit, professional organization with 5,000 members in the fashion industry, including apparel, accessories, beauty and home.
2011 TERADATA EPIC AWARDS
Saks Incorporated was awarded a 2011 Teradata EPIC Award in the “Logistics and Inventory Optimization” category for its implementation of Teradata DCM forecasting, replenishment and allocation applications to help improve Saks' merchandise distribution processes.
Teradata, the world’s leading analytic data solutions company, holds the annual EPIC Awards to honor and recognize the extraordinary innovations that have transformed companies with best-in-class solutions that contribute to business success. Winners are selected by a panel of ten judges representing a cross-section of the industry, including chief information officers, analysts, educators, journalists and technology leaders.
VALUE RETAIL NEWS — 2011 OUTLET RETAIL CHAIN AWARD
Value Retail News awarded Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH with a 2011 Outlet Retail Chain Award in the “Best Marketing” category. Out of the 74 retailers that were nominated for this award, the OFF 5TH team was selected for its strong and innovative promotions, as well as its participation in center-wide events.
The annual Outlet Retail Chain Awards are designed to bring special recognition to those companies that consistently exhibit the qualities that set the standards for excellence in the outlet business. Winners are selected for recognition by a jury of their peers.
2011 LFA NEW YORK CITY BUTTERFLY GALA
At the 2011 Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) Butterfly Gala in New York City. Steve Sadove, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saks Incorporated, was recognized for Saks' long-standing partnership with the LFA, and the Company's financial support, which has helped the LFA expand its reach and capacity to serve the lupus community.
The LFA is the foremost national nonprofit health organization dedicated to finding the causes of and cure for lupus, and providing support, services, and hope to all people affected by lupus. The LFA and its national network of chapters, branches, and support groups conduct programs of research, education, and advocacy.
2011 CREATIVE EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Saks Incorporated’s recruitment website, www.careersatsaks.com, designed by the Bernard Hodes Group, won 3rd prize in the “Non-Print Advertising and Promotions: Corporate Employment Website” category of the 2011 Creative Excellence Awards.
The annual awards honor the most creative advertising campaigns from the top recruitment ad agencies and corporate recruiting departments around the world. Entries are judged by marketing and human resource professionals.
STORES MAGAZINE— 2011 HOT 100 RETAILERS
The August 2011 issue of STORES magazine listed Saks Fifth Avenue as one of its “Hot 100 Retailers” of the year.
STORES magazine is published by STORES Media, the publishing and communications group of the National Retail Federation (NRF), the world’s largest retail trade association.The annual “Hot 100” list highlights retail companies that reported the greatest increase in domestic sales between 2009 and 2010. All public and private companies with more than $300 million in sales were eligible for the list, compiled by Kantar Retail.
MISSISSIPPI BUSINESS JOURNAL — TOP 50 LEADING BUSINESS WOMEN
Pam Cotton, Saks’ Senior Director of Human Resources – Employee Relations Service Center in Jackson, Mississippi, was named one of Mississippi Business Journal’s “Top 50 Leading Business Women” for 2011.
The Mississippi Business Journal is a statewide weekly business newspaper, located in Jackson, Mississippi. The “Top 50 Leading Business Women” are selected through open nominations and published in a special issue each year in August.
DDI MAGAZINE— TOP 10 RETAIL DESIGN INFLUENCERS OF THE YEAR
Harry Cunningham, Saks Fifth Avenue’s Senior Vice President of Store Planning and Visual Merchandising, was named one of DDI magazine’s “Top 10 Retail Design Influencers of the Year” as part of its 2011 Portfolio Awards.
DDI magazine, owned by The Neilson Co., focuses on store design, visual merchandising, architecture, marketing and branding, with a readership of qualified high-level, in-house retail and contract design professionals. DDI Portfolio Award winners are chosen through the magazine’s annual reader survey, where DDI readers nominate the best, brightest and most innovative people, projects and companies in the retail design industry.
WOMEN'S JEWELRY ASSOCIATION— 2011 AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE
Marta Nowakowski, Saks Fifth Avenue's VP, DMM of Jewelry & Watches, was nominated for the “2011 Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) Awards for Excellence” in the "Retail — 15 Stores or More" category.
WJA, founded in 1983, is the preeminent association of professional women in the jewelry, watch and related businesses. Nominees for the “2011 Awards for Excellence” were selected by WJA members.
APPAREL MAGAZINE — TOP INNOVATOR
Saks Incorporated was recognized as a “Top Innovator” in Apparel magazine’s May 2011 issue for its investment in Kiva Systems technology, which automated various aspects of its warehouse fulfillment system to significantly boost productivity
Apparel magazine’s “Top Innovator” award winners were selected based on their ingenuity in overcoming challenges, their willingness to adapt to change and their flair for tapping into consumer desires in a highly competitive global marketplace.
2011 ONE SHOW DESIGN AWARDS
Saks Fifth Avenue received the “Gold Pencil” award in the “Outdoor/Interactive Design” category at the 2011 One Show Design Awards for its “Snowflake and the Bubble” 3D projection light show from the 2010-2011 holiday season.
The One Show Design Awards honor excellence in design communications and have become one of the most sought-after accolades in areas such as poster design, corporate identity and collateral. Winning submissions are selected by a group of international judges consisting of creative directors, art directors, designers and copywriters within the industry. The annual One Show Design Awards are sponsored by The One Club, a non-profit organization that supports the recognition and promotion of excellence in advertising and design.
INSTITUTIONAL INVESTOR MAGAZINE - TOP CEO AND IR PROFESSIONAL FOR BEST INVESTOR RELATIONS
Institutional Investor magazine named CEO and Chairman Steve Sadove one of the top three CEOs for "Best Investor Relations" in the "Retailing/Broadlines & Department Stores" category. Denise Incandela, President of Saks Direct and Executive Vice President of Saks Fifth Avenue, was named one of Retail Online Integration magazine's 50 top women in cross-channel retail for 2011.

2011 NEW YORK ADDY AWARDS
Saks Fifth Avenue was awarded a New York Gold ADDY Award in the “Out of Home” category for its “Snowflake and the Bubble” 3D projection light show from the 2010-2011 holiday season.
As the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, the ADDY Awards are conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). With over 50,000 entries every year, the ADDY Awards recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising. A Gold ADDY award represents the highest level of excellence, as judged by marketing and advertising professionals from nearby cities.
2011 RETAIL ADVERTISING CONFERENCE (RAC) AWARDS
Saks Fifth Avenue won a Gold RACie Award in the “Integrated Media Campaign — Large Store” category for its Fall 2010 “I’m Going to Saks” marketing campaign.
Recipients of the RACie’s, or Retail Awards for Creativity, Innovation and Excellence, are chosen based on the creativity and impact of their campaigns. Sponsored by the Retail Advertising & Marketing Association (RAMA), the RAC Awards Competition is the industry’s most prestigious creative contest for retail broadcast and print advertising.

In 2010, Saks Fifth Avenue was recognized by Internet Retailer magazine as one of 10 online merchants with stellar customer service during its Annual Mystery Shopping Study.
Conducted during the fourth quarter of 2009 by Chicago-based consulting firm, The E-tailing Group Inc., the study ranked customer service based on analysis of 125 metrics in five groups: speed, efficiency, effectiveness, accessibility and customer control.
